This round ceramic trinket box, crafted by the renowned Longwy manufactory in France during the 1940s, is defined by saturated cobalt blue glaze contrasted by a vibrant composition of multi-coloured motifs. The lid is decorated with a large, cream-beige flower at the centre, bordered by a blue scalloped edge and encircled by detailed, hand-painted floral and leafy elements in shades of green, yellow, orange, and red. The sides feature intricate cloisonné-inspired ornamentation—stylised flowers, leaves, and berry-like beads in hues of red, green, white, yellow, pink, and violet, each outlined with refined black lines. The proportions are harmonious, with a slightly flared body and a lid that fits seamlessly, expressing both balance and the craftsmanship characteristic of Longwy. The surface is smooth and glossy, with delicate craquelure on lighter areas, subtly reinforcing the object's age and authenticity. Condition: excellent, with no visible damage or signs of repair.
