ABOUT PRODUCTID 37324
This Moroccan ceramic trinket box from the 1980s exemplifies distinctive craftsmanship and folk artistry. Its compact, cylindrical form with a slightly domed lid is finished in a glossy ceramic, hand-painted in a multicolored palette: white as background, cobalt blue, warm terracotta orange, accented with touches of green and yellow. Both the lid and body are adorned with a matte, silver-toned metal wire, which forms a dimensional, interlaced lattice wrapping around the piece. The decoration combines geometric cross-hatch patterns with stylized plant and symbolic motifs—hallmarks of North African folk design from the late twentieth century. The object is preserved in very good condition: there are no visible damages, and only a subtle patina on the metal elements attests to its vintage authenticity. This box speaks with the voice of late twentieth-century Moroccan craft—a period when enduring decorative traditions engaged with everyday utility. Each detail reflects the artisan’s precision and care, from the rhythm of colors to the intricate silver wirework. It tells of local workshops where geometry and vivid hues were more than mere ornament; they embodied identity, story, and daily ritual.Such a trinket box can be placed on a dressing table, sideboard, or among a collection of accessories in the bedroom. It would work beautifully in boho, vintage, or eclectic interiors, where pairing with raw wood, linen textiles, or glass would highlight its artisanal, ethnic character. It could be combined with other objects in vibrant colors or natural materials to fully unlock its decorative value.
