ABOUT PRODUCTID 1754
This set of four wine goblets was produced by the Józefina Glassworks around 1900. Each piece features a two-tone composition: the bowl is made of uranium glass in a light, translucent yellow-green shade, while the stem and foot are crafted from clear, colorless crystal. The bowls have a subtle satin-matte finish and are decorated with a hand-cut geometric frieze encircling the upper part. The stems are slender and elongated, with a visible faceted air-filled core and a smooth transition between the colored and transparent sections. The wide, stable bases with a polished surface highlight the craftsmanship of the era. The set is in excellent condition, with all elements original and showing no signs of restoration or damage. These goblets evoke the spirit of Art Nouveau gatherings, where light passes through the glass and casts a gentle yellow-green glow onto the table. Every detail—from the geometric frieze to the subtly flared stems—suggests a sense of fluid movement and organic harmony. The transparency of the crystal combined with the enigmatic hue of uranium glass creates a sense of a moment preserved from a century ago, where artisanal tradition meets artistic vision. The set may be used for intimate wine tastings or festive table settings. The goblets pair well with light-toned porcelain, linen tablecloths, or period tableware. They can be combined with low, diffused lighting to accentuate the luminescent effect of uranium glass under UV light. As a decorative accent, the goblets may be displayed on a sideboard or shelf, especially alongside other early 20th-century glass objects, forming a distinctive, collector-worthy composition with a historical character.
