This tall vase, designed by Pavel Hlava for Exbor Glassworks in Nový Bor, Czechoslovakia, embodies the essence of mid-century modern Czech art glass from the 1960s. It features a precisely cut, cuboid form crafted from thick, faceted crystal glass, with each surface polished to a high-gloss finish. The dominant color is a deep, saturated amethyst purple, achieved through the use of metal oxides, and transitions fluidly from an almost black hue at the top to a lighter, more translucent violet towards the base.
