The 'Pineapple' vase is a collectible object from the 1980s, designed by Frantisek Koudelka for the Prachen glassworks in Czechoslovakia. Crafted from crystal glass, it captivates with its vibrant yellow-green hue, which deepens towards the base, and a bold cobalt blue rim that adds a striking accent. The entire surface is adorned with hand-formed protuberances inspired by the texture of a pineapple, while the undulating neck further emphasizes the organic nature of the design. The glossy finish enhances the glass's luminosity and depth, and the ground base provides stability. The vase is in very good condition, with no signs of damage or wear and all elements original. This vase tells the story of late 20th-century Central European design, when glass artistry transcended mere function and decorative expression met bold use of color. Each hand-shaped protrusion recalls a time when even everyday objects bore the marks of individual craftsmanship. The vase seems to speak in the voice of its era, when playful form and vivid color offered a counterpoint to the mundane—its hues and texture evoke energy, and the wavy rim invites the eye to linger.Within an interior, the vase stands out as a statement piece on a console or low shelf, where light can accentuate its chromatic depth and textural play. It may be paired with simple lacquered furniture or raw wood to highlight the contrast between organic form and clean lines. The vase works well in vintage, eclectic, or contemporary artistic settings, where a single expressive object forms the compositional axis.Height: 17 cm, diameter: 13.5 cm.
