ABOUT PRODUCTID 36882
This vase, designed by Stefan Sadowski in 1971 for the Sudety Glassworks in Szczytna Śląska, is a distinctive example of Polish School of Glass from the 1970s. Its organic form features a tall, slender silhouette with a pronounced waist and rounded base. Made from mass-colored soda-lime glass in a delicate nude beige, the vase displays subtle tonal transitions—from a warmer peachy-beige at the top to a lighter, milky tint at the base. The surface is smooth and glossy, with no visible seams; the upper rim is precisely ground and polished. The minimalist yet decorative character is enhanced by the semi-translucent glass, which softly diffuses light and highlights the vase’s clean proportions. The condition is very good—the surface retains its original shine, with no chips or signs of wear. This vase speaks in the language of Polish modernism: gentle lines and nuanced color gradations evoke the experimental spirit of the 1970s, when glass became as expressive a medium as painting or sculpture. Its subtlety and ever-changing tone in different lighting make it a poetic object—one that seems to narrate the shifting atmosphere of an interior and the passage of time, while preserving its sense of harmony and lightness. The vase can be displayed solo on a light console or marble top, where its translucent glass will play with the natural illumination of the room. It works well in a mid-century modern arrangement, surrounded by natural materials—wood, ceramics, minimalist artworks, or neutral textiles. It can be paired with a single long stem or left empty, serving as a sculptural highlight in a contemporary space.Height: 24.5 cm. Diameter: 9 cm. Material: mass-colored soda-lime glass, hand-formed.
