ABOUT PRODUCTID 32095
This ceramic vase comes from the Thulin manufactory in Belgium and dates to the late 1920s or 1930s, embodying the spirit of late Art Deco. Its sculptural silhouette features a pronounced, rounded body that gently tapers towards the neck and flares into a wide, expressive spout. The elegantly arched handle is smoothly integrated into the form, emphasizing the organic lines characteristic of the period. The deep, almost black base color with a cool undertone is accented by an irregular sweep of creamy beige and light brown glaze, flowing organically down one side to create a dynamic visual effect. The overall surface is predominantly matte, with subtle glossy highlights where the glazes transition. The vase is in very good vintage condition, free from visible damage, chips, or restoration—showing only minimal, natural signs of age. This piece speaks with the voice of interwar Europe, when Art Deco sought a balance between geometry and the softness of form. The deep color and flowing glaze recall the fascination with contrast and light that defined the pre-war decade. The vase’s body appears to tell a story of urban sophistication—a time when ceramic accents adorned modernist interiors and reflected a sense of individuality. Its subtle, handcrafted irregularities evoke respect for artisanal skill and the uniqueness of each object, as if the vase itself invites a celebration of daily rituals in a bygone style. The vase could be paired with walnut or black oak furniture to highlight its deep tones. It works as a standalone piece
