ABOUT PRODUCTID 38492
This vase, produced by the Inwald glassworks around 1930 in Dubi, Czech Republic, is a refined example of Central European craftsmanship in the Art Deco period. Its slender proportions and pronounced geometry are defined by a wide, flared rim and a narrow waist, all supported by a solid, square, stepped base. Made from pressed glass colored in mass to a translucent, warm pink, the surface is smooth and lustrous, with crisp edges and clearly articulated lines. Stylized, symmetrical leaf motifs rise dynamically from the base to the rim, reinforcing the architectural character of the project. The vase is preserved in very good condition, with its original color and gloss intact, free from damage or restoration. This piece speaks in the voice of the 1930s—a time when Art Deco boldly merged modernist discipline with decorative imagination. Its slender silhouette and geometric detailing evoke the atmosphere of interwar Europe, when glass was not only utilitarian but also a statement of new ideals in elegance. The gentle pink shade allows light to permeate the interior, while the leafy motifs seem to freeze in motion, as if the vase were telling a story about the harmony between nature and architecture so typical of the best Art Deco creations. Every detail reflects a pursuit of clarity, balance, and a sense of lightness. The vase may serve as a soloist on a sideboard or console in the living room, or be combined with other glassware from the era—perhaps alongside transparent or pastel accessories. It would work well in interiors inspired by Art Deco, modernist arrangements, or eclectic collector’s spaces. Consider pairing it with a geometric tray, a mirrored surface, or a marble top to highlight its architectural form and bring out the subtle sheen of tinted glass.
