ABOUT PRODUCTID 41486
The vase designed by Rudolf Chloušek for the Ludwig Moser & Söhne glassworks is a refined example of Art Deco glass from the 1920s–1930s. This piece is crafted from heavy, blown and cut crystal glass in a rare, pale amethyst tone with a transparent finish. Its monumental, tulip-shaped form rises from a broad, faceted base, with the slender body opening harmoniously towards the top. The surface is adorned with sharply defined facets and matte engravings inspired by stylized floral motifs, which play with the light and emphasize the geometric discipline of the design. The rim is delicately scalloped, introducing a subtle rhythm and decorative accent in line with the aesthetics of the period. The vase measures 20 cm in height and 10 cm in maximum diameter. It is preserved in very good condition, free of chips, cracks, or visible scratches. This vase speaks in the voice of Modernism and Art Deco: its geometric silhouette, restrained coloring, and sophisticated cut evoke the spirit of the European avant-garde of the interwar years. The mass and clarity of its form seem to tell the story of an era when luxury and modernity were intertwined with a pursuit of harmony and order. The pale amethyst hue, shifting in the changing light, recalls the subtle dusk over elegant European salons, while the faceted glass comes alive with each movement of air—like a shimmering mosaic of memories. The vase can be paired with simple, modernist furniture or a classic console from the same period—working both as a solo highlight against a neutral wall or amidst other glass or silver accessories. It brings coherence to Art Deco, classical, or contemporary interiors and underscores the individual character of eclectic collector arrangements. Displayed with a single branch or as a pure sculptural form, the vase is equally striking in natural daylight or under focused illumination.
