ABOUT PRODUCTID 17113
This small vase from the early 20th century originates from the former Austro-Hungarian region, today’s Czech Republic. Crafted from glossy tango glass in a vivid orange-red with hand-applied decoration, it features a subtly tapered, rounded silhouette and a thickened, outwardly flared rim. The highly polished, lustrous surface highlights the intensity of the color, catching and reflecting light. The upper section presents a horizontal frieze: ornate black scrollwork bordered with silver lines and punctuated by elliptical black medallions. Vertical silver divisions segment the body, evoking a sense of geometric order and referencing early Art Deco stylistic tendencies. All decoration is executed by hand, displaying fine symmetry and sharp details. With a height of 11 cm and a base diameter of 8.5 cm, the vase remains in excellent condition—free from chips, cracks, restoration, or losses; all original decoration is intact. In this compact form, the optimism and movement of the early 20th century are distilled. Both the shape and ornamentation reflect an era when early Art Deco geometry coexisted with a passion for fine handcraft. The orange-red and black surface echoes the glow of a city lantern in historic Vienna or Prague, while the floral scrolls seem to recount the memory of salons where tradition and modernity blended seamlessly. A subtle silver sheen lends a sense of refinement, animating the frieze and vertical lines with each glance of light. The vase could be displayed on a sideboard in the living room, where its saturated color plays effectively against both bright and dark backgrounds. It can be paired with minimalist
