ABOUT PRODUCTID 1840
This crystal vase from the 1930s is a design by Karel Palda, produced at the Haida glassworks in Bohemia. Crafted from high-quality, colorless crystal, it features a cool, clear tone reminiscent of ice. The vase’s trumpet-like form is flared toward the top and anchored by a faceted, hexagonal foot, highlighting its architectural silhouette. The surface is adorned with both vertical and fan-shaped cut patterns, lending depth and striking texture. Bold, geometric black enamel motifs overlay the crystal, creating a sharp contrast that defines the vase’s Art Deco character. With dimensions of 13 cm in height and 12.6 cm in diameter, it functions equally well as a standalone centerpiece or as part of a curated display. The craftsmanship reveals precise, sharp edges, meticulously applied enamel, and a lustrous finish. It remains in excellent, original condition, with no visible wear or damage. The vase embodies the spirit of interwar modernism, where decorative flair meets formal discipline. It tells the story of an era when geometry and the interplay of black and clear glass signaled a new urban aesthetic—energy, dynamism, and the optimism woven into architecture and applied arts. In daylight, the crystal reflects its surroundings like a fragment of a modernist façade, while the black enamel accents introduce a graphic rhythm, reminiscent of a jazz motif or the tailored lines of 1930s eveningwear. This restrained but articulate form carries the unmistakable voice of its epoch, offering a touch of luxury and
