ABOUT PRODUCTID 41517
This artistic vase, designed by Pavel Hlava in the 1960s for Bohemia Exbor (Czech Republic), exemplifies the experimental spirit of mid-century modern glassmaking. Its tall, rectangular cuboid form (18 × 6 × 6 cm) is defined by sharp, precise edges and a perfectly flat top. The dominant upper section features a deep, saturated cobalt blue that gradually transitions into a clear, crystalline base. Within the blue glass, irregular inclusions of silver and copper leaf create a dynamic, abstract mosaic. The highly polished crystal surface reflects light with intensity, enhancing the depth of color and the meticulous craftsmanship. The vase bears the manufacturer’s signature on its underside. It is preserved in ideal, collector-grade condition, with no signs of wear or restoration. This vase speaks in the voice of 1960s Czech modernism, a period when artists explored new expressive possibilities in glass and metal. The geometric form, cold cobalt hue, and shimmering metallic inclusions evoke both the laboratory precision and creative restlessness of the era. It resembles a fragment of an icy plane with a vibrant core, as if it has captured a pulse of artistic energy from that time. The vase is best displayed in a minimalist living room or study, serving as a focal point on an oak console, marble surface, or a low shelf alongside modern ceramics. It can be paired with other geometric glass objects—such as Murano dishes—or metal sculptures to emphasize its modernist heritage. In
