The 'butla smok' vase is a notable example of Polish art glass in the spirit of the New Look movement from the late 1960s and early 1970s, designed by Józef Górski for HSG Tarnów. Crafted from soda-lime glass colored in the mass, it features a warm, saturated amber yellow that transitions into an olive-green gradient at the neck. The surface is semi-glossy, densely filled with tiny air bubbles, giving it a dynamic, textured depth. The flattened, disc-shaped body is punctuated by a large central opening, while the short, cylindrical neck is finished with a precisely ground rim. A distinctive decorative element—a sculptural 'comb' of raised amber glass buttons—runs along one side, providing a tactile and visual accent. The vase is preserved in very good condition, with no signs of wear, damage, or restoration; all elements are original and consistent with the era. This vase embodies the creative spirit of the 1960s: asymmetry, playful proportions, and a reverence for materiality. It seems to tell the story of modernist boldness—when Polish glass design explored color and sculptural details in search of new forms of artistic expression. The transparent amber buttons and central aperture guide the gaze like an abstract landscape—the vase does not merely decorate but invites a new perspective on form and light. The 'butla smok' vase can be displayed solo on an oak console or marble surface, where its geometric silhouette is highlighted by a simple, modern backdrop. It may be paired with other glass objects
