ABOUT PRODUCTID 41515
This artistic glass vase, designed by Pavel Stejskal in the 1970s for the Czechoslovakian glassworks Skrdlovice, exemplifies mature modernism in utility glass. Its shape is spherical and slightly flattened, featuring a small, circular opening at the top. The body is crafted from thick, clear glass with a high-gloss, flawlessly polished surface. Embedded within are abstract, organic accents in vivid red, orange, and yellow tones, creating a layered, three-dimensional effect. The original Skrdlovice signature sticker is preserved on the base, underscoring the object’s collectible status. The vase is in very good condition – free of chips, cracks, or visible signs of use, and the glass remains lustrous and pristine. The vase captures the energy of the 1970s, a time when Czechoslovak glassworks experimented boldly with color contrasts and organic motifs. Its form evokes a glassy boulder in which colored patches are ‘frozen’ – like vivid memories of a dynamic decade. The patterns embedded in the glass suggest movement, light, and pulsation, as if the vase itself were telling the story of an era where creative joy met masterful craftsmanship. It can be displayed solo on a light console or shelf in the living room, where daylight will accentuate the depth of its colored inclusions. The vase may be paired with other modernist-era objects – such as minimalist ceramics or geometric prints – but it will also hold its own in an eclectic interior, serving as a bold accent among neutral textiles and natural wood. Its robust form and striking palette allow it to be combined with Murano glass or simple contemporary accessories alike.
