ABOUT PRODUCTID 16962
This medium-sized vase from the 1950s was crafted by hand in the Belgian workshop Maitrise de Nimy, designed by Louis Waem – a prominent figure among the group of artistic ceramicists. Made entirely from clay, it is finished in a saturated cobalt blue glaze with subtle transitions into moss-green shades, resulting in a harmonious, visually rich composition. Its surface is adorned with raised, gold-colored beads and linear accents that emphasize horizontal bands, while the high-relief ornamentation merges swirling foliage with geometric detailing. The rim is undulating and scalloped, coated with a metallic gold finish, creating a sharp contrast to the matte red glaze on the interior. The substantial, circular base is finished with spiral decoration, lending balance to the silhouette. The artist’s signature is visible on the underside. The piece is preserved in excellent condition—no chips, discoloration, or signs of restoration; the glaze and decorations
