Designed by Charles Cart for Cyclope Emaux Des Glacier, this hand-crafted ceramic vase from the 1960s was created in Annecy, French Alps. Its jug-like form is enveloped in a vivid, cobalt blue glaze with a cool undertone, extending seamlessly over the robust, organically shaped handle. Defining features include irregular black and dark gray spots, along with deep craters and bubbles, forming a striking 'fat lava' texture—an expressive hallmark of the mid-century modern era with distinct brutalist influences. A thin band of unglazed, natural brown ceramic appears at the rim and base, offering a subtle contrast to the glossy, textured surface. The interior is glazed in a dark, likely black or deep brown finish.
