The Cyntia vase, designed by Zbigniew Horbowy for the 'Barbara' Artistic Glassworks in Polanica Zdrój, exemplifies Polish studio glass from the 1970s and 1980s. Made of thick, soda-lime glass colored in the mass, the piece displays a deep, cool-toned red base encircled by a wide, irregular white ribbon swirling asymmetrically around the body and base. The shape is bulbous and organic, with a pronounced rounded belly, a narrowing neck, and a flared rim, set on a cylindrical, slightly tapered foot. Its glossy surface enhances the color’s depth and reflects light vividly. Color transitions are smooth, with no visible seams or imperfections—hallmarks of hand-crafted glass from this era. The vase is preserved in excellent condition, showing no signs of wear, chips, or loss of its original lustre.
