The Cyntia vase, designed by Zbigniew Horbowy for the Barbara Artistic Glassworks in Polanica Zdrój during the 1970s and 1980s, exemplifies the expressive potential of mass-colored soda glass. Its vivid, saturated red hue is encircled by a broad, spiraling stripe in white with a subtle lilac undertone, creating a dynamic visual rhythm. The bulbous, organically rounded body flows into a stable cylindrical base and a gently flared neck, while the high-gloss surface emphasizes the depth and vibrancy of its palette. The harmonious proportions and clean lines reflect the modernist and late modernist tendencies of Polish design. The vase is preserved in very good condition, with no visible signs of wear, damage, or restoration. This piece channels the spirit of Polish modernism from the 1970s—bold in color yet true to organic, nature-inspired forms. Its distinctive shape appears as if the glass is set in motion, with the spiral ribbon evoking a play of light and shadow. The vase narrates an era when experimentation with color and form extended into everyday objects, bringing freshness, expression, and a trace of artistic courage into interiors. The Cyntia vase can be displayed solo on an oak console or marble surface, where its intense red and swirling pattern take center stage. It pairs well with Murano glass or minimalist monochrome vases, forming a composition with balanced dynamism. Spaces inspired by mid-century modern, eclectic collector’s settings, or contemporary homes with an appreciation for Polish craftsmanship offer a natural context
