This ceramic vase by Jerzy Sacha, created at the Chmielów Ceramic Works in the 1970s/80s, stands out with its sculptural form and distinctive texture. The vessel’s silhouette evokes a slightly flattened pumpkin, while a band of conical, geometric protrusions recalls paleontological motifs—hence its collector’s nickname, the 'Dinosaur'. The main body is finished in a warm, glossy brown glaze with subtle tonal shifts from golden ochre to chestnut. The glaze gives the vase a smooth, lustrous surface, while the protrusions, slightly darker and more reflective, create a bold three-dimensional pattern. The design harmoniously combines influences of modernism with elements of brutalism and organic sculpture. The craftsmanship is precise, with a fluid form and well-integrated details. The vase is preserved in excellent, collector’s condition—no losses, cracks, or traces of restoration, with its original patina and finish intact. This object tells the story of Polish design at the turn of the
