ABOUT PRODUCTID 23828
The ESR Sawa 256-15 vase is a representative example of 1960s German design, crafted by the West German Sawa (Franz Schwaderlapp) manufactory in the Westerwald ceramic region. Made of ceramic, its balanced proportions feature a gently rounded body that tapers towards the base and neck, measuring 15 cm in height and approximately 12 cm across its widest part. The central section is adorned with a sgraffito technique—hand-carved geometric reliefs featuring diamond and linear motifs that create a tactile surface. The color palette consists of a warm sandy beige as the main shade, complemented by bands of olive green and dark brown, with a subtle shift towards muted turquoise at the top. The colored bands are smoothly finished with a slight satin sheen, while the carved areas remain rough and textured. The original 'Sawa Foreign' label and the impressed model number on the base confirm authenticity. Condition: excellent—glaze is lustrous, colors remain vivid, edges are smooth and intact, and there are no signs of wear or restoration. This vase tells the story of postwar German modernism—a period when geometric inspiration and a natural color palette shaped the language of contemporary interiors.
