This ceramic vase from West Germany, dating to the 1960s, is a striking example of mid-century modern style and the Fat Lava technique characteristic of the era. Crafted from ceramic, it features a bold two-tone glossy glaze: a vivid, saturated orange at the top organically transitions into a deep, almost black brown at the base. The color shift is irregular and fluid—the orange glaze drips into the darker section, creating a lava-like dynamic effect. The surface is smooth and highly reflective, while the cylindrical form with gently rounded shoulders and a subtly narrowed neck reflects the rhythm of the 1960s. The vase measures 38 cm in height and 20 cm in diameter.
