ABOUT PRODUCTID 20261
The 'Giraffe' vase stands as an example of Polish artistic glass from the 1970s, designed by Kazimierz Krawczyk for the Sudety Glassworks in Szczytna Śląska. Crafted from cased soda glass, it features a fluid gradient of color: starting with milky white at the rim, passing through warm amber and honey tones in the middle, and concluding with a deep reddish-brown at the base. The elongated, sculptural silhouette is defined by rhythmic, undulating rings evoking the outline of a giraffe’s neck, while the gently flared mouth and wide, rounded base emphasize its functional presence. The glass is thick, highly reflective, and finished to a smooth, polished sheen. Measuring 41 cm in height and 10 cm in diameter, the vase is preserved in very good condition, with no visible signs of wear or damage – a testament to the quality of vintage Polish glassmaking. The form of the 'Giraffe' vase speaks in the language of Polish modernism – an era when glassworks became laboratories of artistic exploration, and designers like Krawczyk, inspired by the school of Zbigniew Horbowy, translated organic motifs into geometric discipline
