A large, hand-crafted vase produced by the renowned Bohemia glassworks in Czechoslovakia at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s. Formed from thick, mass-coloured transparent glass, the vase features a subtly tapering cylindrical silhouette resting on a wide, stable base (12 cm diameter), with an overall height of 26 cm and width of 19 cm. The main visual motif consists of striking, geometric bands—mirror-like, high-gloss gold alternates with wide, softly satin pink-lilac stripes. The composition relies on these large, horizontal bands for a strict, modernist rhythm, without any ornamental motifs, handles, or feet, epitomizing the decorative Modernism of late 70s and 80s design. Its construction is solid, the glass thick and of evident quality; the gold finish shows small abrasions and areas of patina typical of genuine vintage use, although the glass itself remains undamaged. Preserved in good condition, with subtle traces of wear on the gilded sections, the vase maintains its authentic, original character. This vase brings forth the spirit of its era, evoking the atmosphere of late communist Eastern Europe and the burgeoning design optimism
