ABOUT PRODUCTID 36675
The 'Herkules' vase, designed by Ewa Gerczuk-Moskaluk for the Sudety Glassworks in the 1980s, is distinguished by its elongated, organic silhouette with a broad, rounded base, a slender neck, and a gently flared mouth. This hand-formed piece employs the cased glass technique: a vibrant orange core is enveloped in a milky, nude-toned outer layer. The color transitions seamlessly from a pronounced orange in the central section to paler, lighter tones at the base and rim. Its surface is smooth and highly glossy, emphasizing the precision of the glasswork and the subtle gradation of hues. An original factory sticker near the rim attests to the vase's authenticity and provenance. The vase shows no visible signs of use or damage and remains in very good, collector-grade condition. The form of 'Herkules' speaks the language of Polish modernism from the 1980s: a dialogue between function and artistic vision, where light and color interact with delicate restraint. The vase seems to recount an era when glass evolved from the purely utilitarian to the experimental—its transparency and painterly chromatic transitions suggest an inner glow, as if the object radiates light from within. The factory label conjures the tradition of Lower Silesian craftsmanship, while the whole piece embodies a sense of quiet, consistent elegance. The vase may be displayed on a neutral wooden console or a marble surface, where the interplay of light will highlight the cased glass technique. It works well as a sculptural accent in minimalist settings, or alongside other Polish objects from the 1980s to create a cohesive collection of modernist forms. For best effect, it can be paired with monochromatic textiles, simple ceramics, or a single delicate branch to enhance its subtle color palette and transparent quality.
