ABOUT PRODUCTID 36988
This artistic vase from the Ikora series, designed by Karl Wiedmann for WMF in Germany in the early 1930s, exemplifies refined craftsmanship within the Art Deco movement. Hand-formed from structural glass with embedded metal flakes, the vase features a striking color gradient: from cool, light turquoise at the wide, flared rim, through olive green, to golden hues at the base. Vertical, irregular lines in gold and green tones create a dynamic, organic pattern reminiscent of plant fibers. The body, bulbous at the bottom and narrowing at the neck before flaring dramatically at the top, displays the flowing proportions emblematic of the era. The glass surface is glossy with an almost wet look, intensifying the interplay of light and the depth of color. This is the largest model from the Ikora collection. The vase is preserved in very good condition, with no visible damage or signs of restoration. The Ikora vase echoes the spirit of the 1930s—an age when art and technology defined a new language of expression. Its color transitions, from cool turquoise to warm gold, evoke the shifting light of day, while the organic lines suggest an inspiration drawn from nature. The embedded metallic flakes appear as if time has paused, capturing a subtle, Art Nouveau pulse within a distinctly modern, Art Deco form. This object quietly recalls the atmosphere of an interwar atelier—full of experimentation, illumination, and color. This vase can be paired with contemporary ceramics or minimalist geometric
