This small Imari vase from Japan, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, was crafted in faience and hand-painted in the tradition of Arita. The bulbous, subtly faceted body features a short, narrow neck and a gently flared rim, forming a canvas for alternating vertical decorative panels: some depict classic floral motifs with peonies and foliage, while others show stylized geometric patterns, all rendered in intense iron-red and deep cobalt blue. The warm, creamy background accentuates the vibrancy of the colors, and the glossy glaze brings out their depth.
