This ceramic vase from the Włocławek faience factory, designed by Wit Płażewski in 1958, is a representative example of Polish mid-century craft. The form is a gently flattened cylinder with a wide opening and no distinct neck. The base color, a warm creamy white, serves as the backdrop for hand-painted underglaze decorations: stylized, organic leaf or pod motifs outlined in ochre-brown, filled with turquoise-green dots and black accents, interspersed with broad, expressive blue-violet brushstrokes that create a dynamic, wave-like pattern around the body. The glossy surface enhances the vibrancy of the colors and reveals the confident, painterly approach typical of the era. The base bears the original manufacturer's mark and impressed stamp.
