The Kongo vase, designed by Bodo Mans for Bay Keramik in Germany during the 1960s, is a striking example of mid-century modern design. Its tall, slender, slightly conical form features a flared rim and narrow neck, crafted from stoneware with a deep, matte anthracite surface. The decorative motif consists of a rhythmic sequence of oval medallions, each outlined in white and filled with abstract, painterly strokes in pastel shades of yellow, lavender, turquoise, and blue, with occasional black accents. The interplay between the matte background and the glossy, glazed medallions highlights the texture and visual rhythm of the piece. The vase is signed with an impressed mark and retains the original label on the base. It is preserved in very good condition, showing only minor, age-appropriate signs of gentle use.

The vase can be displayed on a dark wood sideboard or among light, geometric forms, where its color palette and decorative rhythm will gain new depth. It works well as
