This glass vase, designed by Anna Ehrner for the renowned Swedish manufacturer Kosta Boda in the 1980s, is crafted from hand-blown art glass. Its base is a cool, deep black that softly transitions into graphite, teal, and subtle blue at the underside. The surface is highly polished and glossy, accentuating the depth and smooth gradation of colors, while dynamic inlays of white and pale blue are embedded within the mass of the glass. These abstract, spontaneous lines and swathes—hallmarks of Ehrner's experimental style—run through the body, culminating in an expressive, spiraling white motif. The rim is softly undulating and asymmetric, lending the vase an organic, informal accent in line with Scandinavian avant-garde traditions of the late twentieth century. There are no visible joins or cuts, confirming the free-blown technique. The original Kosta Boda label remains on the side.
