The 'Tankard' vase by Jerzy Słuczan-Orkusz, created in 1972 at the Glass Institute workshop in Kraków, exemplifies Polish artistic glass of the 1970s. Measuring 16 cm in height and 11 cm in diameter, it is crafted from tinted glass in a smoky, semi-transparent taupe that subtly shifts from a light, nearly gray hue at the rim, through warmer amber-brown tones at the center, to a bluish-gray finish at the base. The surface is smooth and highly reflective, enhancing its refined character. Two twisted bands of darker blue glass encircle the body, providing a distinct tactile and visual accent. The handle is formed from a separate piece of olive-green transparent glass, attached with visible, hand-crafted joints and ending in a rounded curve, highlighting both functionality and sculptural expression. The robust, cylindrical proportions and geometric silhouette are characteristic of the era.
