The 'Luxus' Tönnieshof vase, produced by Carstens in Germany in 1965, is a refined example of mid-century modern design. This ceramic piece features an hourglass silhouette with a narrow waist and flared rim and base, combining a matte, warm off-white ground with hand-painted horizontal bands in beige, light brown, and pale green. Raised, textured brown patterns evoke abstract sound waves or organic motifs, while the glossy light-grey rim and the blue-glazed interior provide a subtle visual and tactile contrast. Measuring approximately 31 cm in height and 10 cm in base diameter, the vase stands out with its harmonious yet striking form. The surface is smooth, with visible brushwork in the colored bands. Marked 'W. Germany' and model number 1219-30. Preserved in very good vintage condition, with no visible chips or cracks and only minimal signs of age-appropriate wear.
