ABOUT PRODUCTID 23587
This ceramic vase, designed by Jerzy Sacha and known as the 'Maczuga', was created in the 1970s at the Kamionka Cooperative in Łysa Góra. Its shape is inspired by a club, featuring a wide, rounded base that tapers into a slender neck and flares out at the rim. The surface is covered with a warm, deep reddish-brown glaze, marked by subtle tonal transitions and a high-gloss, reflective finish. The most distinctive decorative element is the regular arrangement of raised, rounded studs that cover both the body and the neck, giving the vase a dynamic, three-dimensional texture. Crafted from stoneware, the vase offers a smooth, glossy surface that enhances the depth and saturation of the glaze. Its proportions—36 cm in height and 21.5 cm in diameter—lend a sense of monumentality to the silhouette. The vase is preserved in very good condition: the surface is free of wear, damage, or restoration, with all original elements intact. This piece evokes the spirit of 1970s Polish modernism, where bold geometric forms intersected with meticulous craftsmanship. Its silhouette 'tells' of an era defined by experimentation with surface and material—a time when everyday objects became canvases for sculptural, tactile innovation. The lustrous glaze captures light like a still pond, while the raised studs invite the touch, recalling the hand of the ceramist. The vase seems to say: 'Every day brings new colors, and a simple form can become a field for decorative exploration.'The vase may
