The Mandruzatto vase is a testament to Italian glassmaking from Murano, created circa 1950 using a technique by Flavio Poli. Crafted from crystal glass colored in the mass, it boasts a layered structure achieved through the 'sommerso' (sun) technique: deep ruby red at the top, transitioning through amber-orange gradients to clear accents along the edges. The profiled body features vertical ribbing, while the dramatically flared rim with six petal-like extensions gives the piece an organic, dynamic silhouette characteristic of mid-century modern style. Its thick, stable base of clear glass anchors the form, and the lustrous, highly polished surface enhances the depth and brilliance of the colors. The vase measures 26.5 cm in height and 21 cm in diameter. Condition is excellent – with no chips, cracks, or signs of wear, and all details remain original.
