This vase, designed by Pavel Hlava for Exbor in the 1960s, exemplifies the highest standards of Czechoslovak glassmaking. The tall, geometric form with a hexagonal cross-section (height: 28.5 cm) is crafted from hand-faceted, layered crystal glass, using a precise planar grinding technique to achieve the so-called 'sun' effect. The highly polished, transparent crystal encases vibrant internal layers of blue and green glass, while a bold red core runs vertically through the center, imparting striking depth and visual energy. The glossy, reflective surface and faceted sides create prismatic effects, refracting light and intensifying the interplay of colors.
