ABOUT PRODUCTID 2005
Designed by Josef Hospodka in 1960 for the Chribska glassworks, this vase is a striking example of Czechoslovak mid-century modern design. Crafted from cased sodium glass, it combines functional purpose with sculptural decorative appeal. The organic form features a vibrant color gradient: deep cobalt blue at the wide, four-lobed rim, transitioning seamlessly into olive green at the bulbous, multi-petaled base, with a subtle clear accent at the bottom. The form of this vase tells the story of Central European modernism, where bold experimentation met the mastery of the glassmaker’s craft. The glass, capturing and refracting light within its flowing contours, seems to narrate an era when design imagination and technological precision converged. The color gradient evokes natural minerals or a shimmering water surface, while the four-lobed rim recalls organic motifs characteristic of H
