A large stoneware vase designed by Roger Guerin, Belgium, dating from the 1940s, demonstrates a refined balance of functional form and antique inspiration. The surface is finished in a matte glaze of beige and light turquoise, with delicate tonal gradients blending into stone grey and muted brown, resulting in a cool, nuanced color palette. The main decorative accent consists of raised relief archers in the attire of ancient Greece—helmets, tunics, and bows—rendered in sandy bronze-brown accented with nearly black details for the hair and garment lines. The vase combines smooth, subtly glossy relief surfaces with a satin-matte background. Its silhouette recalls the classic amphora: a long, egg-shaped body, solid foot (10 cm diameter), wide, short neck with a rounded, slightly flared rim in metallic dark grey, and a single, robust handle in the same metallic hue.
