ABOUT PRODUCTID 6037
This ceramic vase from the Nuovo Rinascimento manufactory exemplifies Italian mid-century modern design of the 1960s. Standing 30 cm tall with a full, rounded form, it is hand-crafted and signed. The color composition features a striking contrast: the upper and lower sections are glazed in a warm, off-white with subtle brown undertones, while the central, bulbous section is finished in a deep, glossy burgundy. The transition between these tones is softly blended, amplifying the highly lustrous, almost glass-like finish of the glaze. The central band is the most ornate: raised interlocking circles with floral motifs are framed by undulating, ribbon-like reliefs. The vertical ribbing on the neck adds tactile texture, while the base and rim are accentuated by a speckled brown glaze. The overall design is faithful to the spirit of Italian mid-century modernism, merging bold tactile ornamentation with the era's characteristic color contrasts. The vase is in very good vintage condition, with no damage, chips, or visible wear. The form of this vase seems to tell the story of the Italian avant-garde of the 1960s—a period when experimentation with color and texture defined the search for a new language in functional ceramics. Its glossy surface catches the light, and the raised patterns evoke the richness of Italian ornament, filtered through a modernist sensibility. The interplay of deep burgundy with soft cream and brown hues captures the atmosphere of southern light
