ABOUT PRODUCTID 20241
The 'Panna Młoda' vase is an example of Polish art glass from the 1970s, designed by Jerzy Słuczan-Orkusz and produced in 1972 at the Institute of Glass in Kraków. The body, made from mass-colored glass in an intense orange-red hue, features a bulbous base that flows into a narrowing neck, finished with a subtly flared rim. Along the neck, vertical rows of applied glass prunts create a three-dimensional decorative texture and introduce a varied play of light. The surface is smooth and glossy, almost mirror-like, with no visible seams, suggesting it was hand-blown. The vase measures 23.5 cm in height and 13 cm in diameter. Condition: very good, with no damage and the original finish preserved. This piece speaks the language of Polish modernism: the saturated color evokes the energy and optimism of the 1970s, while the organic, flowing lines reveal a fascination with movement and light. The vase seems to capture a dance of light across the glass surface, while the raised prunts act as a kind of jewelry detail, animating the form like a string of pearls on a bride’s neck. It stands as a narrative object, telling a story of artisanal skill and the bold artistic vision of Polish designers of its era.The vase can be displayed in a living room on a contemporary console or on a classic dining table, where the glass color will play beautifully with daylight. It pairs well with matte ceramics or minimalist vessels from the same period, emphasizing its modernist origin. In vintage collector interiors, it would work as a central accent on a shelf or alongside other examples of Polish glass from the 1960s and 1970s, creating a coherent narrative of mid-century design.
