The 'Bride' vase is an artistic piece designed by Jerzy Słuczan-Orkusz in 1972 for the Glass Institute in Kraków. Crafted from colored glass, it features a striking gradient—deep, saturated amber-orange at the neck and upper body, fading into a lighter, translucent yellow at the base. The glossy, smooth surface accentuates the depth and vibrancy of the colors, while subtle swirling patterns within the glass add a sense of movement. The most distinctive element is the three horizontal rows of raised glass droplets (prunts) encircling the neck, introducing a tactile, sculptural quality and alluding to the organic forms explored in 1960s and 1970s modernism. The vase’s profile is bulbous at the base, narrowing sharply at the neck before elegantly flaring at the rim, resulting in harmonious proportions. The piece is preserved in excellent, original condition, with no visible signs of wear, restoration, or damage—retaining its authentic state from 1972.
