ABOUT PRODUCTID 33811
The 'Przecinki' vase, designed by Jan Sylwester Drost for the Ząbkowice Glassworks in the 1970s, is a prime example of Polish modernist glass design. Its tall, elongated teardrop shape gently expands into a wide, softly undulating rim. Crafted from hand-formed soda-lime glass, the vase features a cool, translucent blue gradient—ranging from a deep, saturated blue at the base to lighter, almost lavender tones toward the top. The surface is adorned with a vertical, rhythmic pattern of oval and dash-shaped clear spots, creating a graphic, decorative motif characteristic of Drost's work. The glass is polished to a high gloss and finished with a flat ground base. The vase is in very good condition, showing no damages or signs of wear. This form tells a story of experimentation and bold artistic pursuits—1970s Polish glassmaking developed a distinct, expressive identity. The 'Przecinki' design captures the modernist fascination with geometry, casting soft, tinted reflections as light passes through the blue glass. Its repetitive, pulsating surface decoration evokes a sense of rhythm, while the fluid silhouette embodies the optimism and lightness of an era when glass was intended to both serve and inspire. The vase could be displayed on a low sideboard in light wood or a minimalist shelf in the living room, highlighting a contemporary interior scheme. It works well as a standalone piece with a single branch or flower, but it can also be grouped with other 1970s glass objects to create a dynamic composition. In mid-century modern or eclectic vintage spaces, the vase will accentuate a taste for original forms and bold color.Height: 35 cm, width: 15 cm. Material: hand-formed, mass-colored
