ABOUT PRODUCTID 29592
This Wallendorf porcelain vase from East Germany, dating to the 1960s/70s, exemplifies mid-century European decorative craftsmanship. The tall, slender, and subtly flared cylindrical form is finished in a deep, warm red with a high-gloss, mirror-like surface. The front is adorned with a hand-painted motif: a large, detailed white flower with subtle gray shading and a black center, surrounded by raised gold leaves and stems. The gold accents are applied in relief, adding a tactile, three-dimensional quality to the decoration, while a fine gold band highlights the rim. The porcelain surface is smooth and lustrous. The signature on the base confirms its authenticity as a Wallendorf piece, a manufactory established in 1764. The vase is in excellent vintage condition, with no visible signs of use, damage, or restoration. This vase speaks to an era when craftsmanship met decorative exuberance—when East German porcelain embraced both classical motifs and the boldness of vivid color and gloss. The red background and gilded accents evoke the mood of 1960s and 70s interiors, where detail was as important as silhouette. The floral motif, echoing memories of historic gardens, rises from the intense color field and seems to say: “Every day deserves a celebration touched by artistry.” For interior styling, the vase could be paired with a minimalist console in light wood or marble to highlight its vivid palette and lustrous finish. It works well as a standalone decorative accent in the living room, or grouped with other vintage porcelain objects for a collector’s vignette. Spaces with a mid-century modern spirit, classic salons, or eclectic environments would benefit from its
