The Roth Keramik vase is an authentic example of 1960s German design, crafted in the distinctive fat lava technique. Its ceramic body features a bulbous silhouette with harmonious proportions – a wide base tapering to a flared neck – and a single, rounded handle. The dominant, matte deep black hue with subtle brown undertones contrasts with an irregular, textured band of glaze in light beige to off-white, tactile and slightly rough to the touch. The color transition is smooth, while the neck and handle have a slightly glossy finish, creating a dialogue between light and texture. Numbered (109/15), the vase is preserved in very good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of restoration, remaining true to its mid-century modern origins. This vase speaks with the voice of an era where material expression and organic forms answered the search for new meaning in everyday objects.
