ABOUT PRODUCTID 36091
The 'Smok' artistic vase, designed by Józef Górski and produced at the Huta Szkła Gospodarczego in Tarnów in the late 1960s to early 1970s, stands as a distinctive example of Polish mid-century modern glassmaking. The sculptural, drop-shaped body features a prominent central through-hole, lending the piece an almost totemic presence. Its primary hue is a warm amber-gold, transitioning from an almost translucent beige at the top to deep amber at the base. The surface displays marbled transitions and organic, foamy inclusions characteristic of the spienione glass technique, giving it a geological texture. A signature openwork 'comb' of clear glass loops runs along one edge, adding a decorative accent and emphasizing the artisanal nature of the object. The style is rooted in mid-century modernism, marked by bold geometry and material experimentation. The vase is in very good condition, with no visible damage or repairs, retaining its original patina and distinctive hand-crafted character.
