This ceramic vase from the 1960s is a representative example of West German design by Scheurich Keramik, model 242-22, distinguished by its characteristic 'Spiderweb' relief pattern. The vessel features a classic cylindrical shape with a gently narrowed neck below the collar; its surface is covered in a vivid, glossy red-orange glaze. The decoration is complemented by a thick, matte, heavily textured Fat Lava glaze in a black-brown hue, forming a geometric web-like motif across the vivid background. The striking contrast between the smooth, reflective glaze and the coarse, lava-like texture creates a dynamic interplay of light and tactile sensation.
