ABOUT PRODUCTID 32018
This large ceramic vase by Stein Keramik, West Germany, dating to the 1960s, is a striking example of mid-century modern design. The piece is defined by its sculptural silhouette—a wide, rounded body that tapers toward a narrow neck and rests on a sturdy, slightly flared foot. An angular, geometric handle is seamlessly integrated into the form, emphasizing its modernist roots. The primary finish is a deep, glossy navy blue with a mirror-like sheen, while a dynamic, irregular band of mottled blue and white glaze encircles the widest part of the body, adding a vivid accent and tactile contrast. This accent band is slightly raised and textured, evoking the effect of lava glaze, while the base and neck remain smooth and consistent in color. The vase is numerically signed. It is preserved in very good condition—the glaze surface is intact and vibrant, with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of wear, and the original finish has been carefully maintained.
