ABOUT PRODUCTID 6699
Designed by Pavel Hlava and produced by the Czech glassworks Egermann in the 1960s, this vase is distinguished by its geometric, rectangular form and expert craftsmanship. The dominant feature is a deep, saturated amethyst purple glass, which shifts to near-black tones depending on the light. Bold amber-orange bands run along the vertical edges, enhancing the three-dimensionality and creating a vivid contrast with the purple. Inside, abstract silver foil inclusions are suspended within the glass, catching and reflecting light to animate the composition with subtle flashes. The base is made of thick, transparent crystal, providing solidity and balance. The highly polished, mirror-like surface accentuates the clarity and depth of color, while the precisely flat planes and seamless transitions between colors and materials reveal meticulous execution. There are no visible joints or imperfections. The vase is preserved in excellent condition, with no signs of wear or restoration. This piece echoes the spirit of Czech modernism of the 1960s, an era when craftsmanship met experimentation and glass was transformed into a medium for artistic innovation. Its geometric cuts, layered colors, and embedded silver fragments evoke a dialogue with movement and light—capturing, as if frozen, a fleeting reflection or momentary flash. The structure reflects a time when glass acquired a new artistic identity, with color and detail valued as highly as
