This vase, produced by the Czech manufacturer Wilhelm Kralik Sohn in the 1920s, offers a distinct blend of iridescent millefiori glass and a metal lid with Art Nouveau openwork motifs. The main body, crafted from thick, hand-blown glass and finished to a highly polished, lustrous shine, is compact and gently spherical (11 × 11 × 11 cm). Deep, symmetrical indentations around the circumference enhance the play of reflections—dominantly in warm golden-orange and amber tones, shifting to bursts of pink, violet, blue, and green depending on the angle of light. The millefiori technique reveals abstract, organically scattered circles in blue, violet, yellow, and white hues. Topping the vessel, an ornate metal grid with stylized floral and leaf motifs displays a natural patina. The vase remains in very good overall condition with only a subtle minor chip to the metal lid.
This piece speaks in the voice of the early 1920s—a period in Central Europe marked by the blossoming of Art Nouveau and a fascination with organic ornament and bold color.
