This late 19th-century vase, originating from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, exemplifies the eclectic historicist style characteristic of the period. The circular base is made from plated brass, featuring a warm, gently patinated tone with subtle variations caused by natural oxidation. Three finely detailed dolphin figures, symmetrically arranged, serve both as decorative elements and as structural supports for the crystal insert. Each dolphin is sculpted with pronounced scales and expressive heads, lending the piece a dynamic, sculptural presence. The insert is crafted from clear, cut crystal with high transparency and brilliance, adorned with vertical faceted cuts and a scalloped rim that beautifully reflects light and contrasts with the textured, substantial base.
