The 'Volcano' vase is an example of Polish pressed glass from the 1970s, designed by Jan Sylwester Drost for the Ząbkowice Glassworks, part of the Inwald Glassworks in Dąbrowa Górnicza. Made from thick, soda-lime colored glass, the piece features a vivid orange-pink hue with a delicate gradient—more saturated at the base and gradually lightening towards the rim. The cylindrical form, slightly tapering toward the bottom with a flat base, is adorned with a distinctive geometric relief of raised, rounded squares arranged in a regular grid. The three-dimensional texture and glossy finish highlight the precision of pressed glass techniques characteristic of late 20th-century Polish modernism.
