This vase, designed by Ludwik Fiedorowicz for Huta Szkła Artystycznego 'Staszic' (a branch of HSG 'Ząbkowice'), was produced in Poland in the 1980s and exemplifies the bold expressive glassware of the era. Crafted from thick, colored glass in a saturated amber yellow, the piece features a broad base tapering into a sculptural neck, flaring out into a distinctive crimped rim. The highly polished, glossy surface gives it a luminous presence, while six clear glass droplets, evenly applied on both sides of the neck, add a playful decorative accent. Its harmonious proportions and attention to detail reflect the Polish design tradition of the late 20th century, where function meets decorative artistry. The vase is preserved in very good condition, with no visible signs of wear, damage, or restoration. The form carries the voice of late-century Polish modernism—expressive yet inviting to everyday use. The warm amber hue with a subtle gradient evokes the light of a summer afternoon, while the clear glass applications lend a sense of sculptural playfulness. The vase seems to tell the story of a time when colored glass was not only functional but also a field for artistic experiment and bold design. It can be paired with other glass objects from the era—goblets, compotes, or simple transparent vases—to create a curated arrangement on a sideboard or console. The piece will work well in a minimalist living room inspired by the 1980s, as well as in an eclectic setting with retro accents. Combining it with light wood, matte ceramics, or a neutral background will enhance the depth and radiance of the glass.
